The Bay Area's vital lands provide clean water, fresh food, inviting places to play, and habitat for wildlife. Each of the region's nine counties must do their part to preserve the irreplaceable natural resources that belong to every Californian.

CONSERVATION GOALS

Now is the time to reduce our impact on the climate, ensure that we have reliable supplies of local food and water, and continue attracting the visitors and talented workers that make the Bay Area an economic powerhouse.

Around the region we must:

Ensure that the Bay Area’s open space benefits all of the region’s residents equally,

Permanently protect vital landscapes by funding the purchase of land and conservation easements and funding stewardship efforts, and

Adopt strong policies to protect natural areas and support working farms and ranches.
